Idea Adoption Jam 2025 was an event hosted by Zdzisiu. It had a similar premise to Ghost Jam events, but with the twist that the ghosts created must be based on ideas given by other people in the “Free Ideas” thread of the Ukagaka Dream Team Discord server. That meant each dev would work on an idea that was not their own, thus “adopting” unused ghost ideas.

Rules

Note that the dates and times given for the event were made using a special syntax that would change depending on the user's timezone and region, including a relative indicator such as “in 5 days”. This cannot be accurately recreated on this page, and has been replaced with the timestamps for the event as seen in CEST.

—IDEA ADOPTION JAM 2025—

Premise: Adopt an idea given by someone else in the #Free Ideas thread! Find someone's idea and bring it to life!

It is time once again for Idea Adoption Jam 2025. For those who missed the previous ones, as written above, the premise is to “adopt” an idea from the #⁠Free ideas thread and bring it to life.
The event will start on September 19th, 2025 5:00PM and end on September 26th, 2025 5:00PM .

—EVENT INFO—
You can work on a team of any size or go solo - but only in one team at a time. You can only choose ideas that are:
1. From the #Free Ideas thread.
2. Not yours or any of your teammates.

Go find an idea you like, and remember to save the link to it - you will need it for your submission!

For a ghost to qualify for the Idea Adoption Jam:
1. The ghost has to be made from an idea that is available in the ⁠#Free ideas thread.
The ghost should be easily recognizable as being a ghost from the given idea.
2. The idea used cannot be from any person in your team, including yourself.
3. The ghost has to be released within the Jam timeframe.
4. Assets cannot be made outside the Jam timeframe.
5. If you decide to start from a template, it has to be one that is free and publicly available.
6. You can use premade assets, but they must be free and publicly available. Premade assets must have appropriate credit in the ghost's readme and a link back to the source.
Your ghost must have at least one area that contains custom assets - whether in writing, code, or art.
7. You may not use AI to generate assets for any part of your ghost. Including text, art, sound, and code assets.
Premade assets are exempt from this rule to protect developers who use them mistakenly.

—CHALLENGES—
1. Adoption Speedrun: How many can you adopt within the timeframes?
2. 72h Challenge: Submit your ghost within the first 72 hours.
3. New Assets Only: No premade assets allowed, pick 1 template (or start from scratch) and make everything else fresh.
